The man who cried
Why? Why? Why did he cry? What was the problem? Did he cry because it was hurting him? Did he cry because it was painful? Did he cry because he lost something or someone? Why did he cry?
First cry mentioned in the Bible is in Genesis 21:17 “God heard the boy crying”, why was the boy crying? This situation was so grievous even God couldn’t bare. Lets take few parameters.
- Father sent mother and a boy away with a morsel of water, long journey there is no water left.
- There is no safety when needed.
- There is no food left.
- There is no-where to go.
- There was no reason in human’s eyes to be kicked out of the house to wilderness
- The boy was dying.
And there could be many more reasons why the boy was crying. Here, we could see a boy “Ishmael” is crying. (Why Ishmael was kicked out? He wasn’t a promised son by God. Ishmael was borne out of human idea, like the different ideologies and gods created by men). Yet, God being God did not forsake the dying cry of a child boy. Here we can see, God was merciful from the beginning to mankind.
Yesterday, I saw a man crying. It touched my heart. This man I didn’t know who he was but he was crying something terrible thing happened to him. When I saw this crying man and the situation, I could see the depth of his thought for him to cry.
Today, if you are a father or a mother think this over and over; if you had to leave your sons who are (4 and 7) years old forever. What is the future of these two sons? As a human being this is not fair? However, “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” Jeremiah 29:11
“For with God nothing shall be impossible.” Luke 1:37
And Lord God goes on saying,
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.” Isaiah 55:8
“To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:” Ecclesiastes 3:1
Yes, humanly thinking this is not fair but as per the word of God, as God being God, “As for God, his way is perfect: the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all those that trust in him.” Psalm 18:30
Hence, “In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” 1Thessalonians 5:18
As a living and practical person, it is very difficult and impossible to satisfy our mind and heart; however God Himself says, “Trust in the LORD and do good; Dwell in the land and cultivate faithfulness. Delight yourself in the LORD; And He will give you the desires of your heart.” Psalm 37:3&4
If we cry, it is good for our physical and emotional elements of our life. Yet we cry, we must look unto the Lord for everything, because His is all in all. He gives life and takes life. He has the key of our life to eternity Heaven and eternity Hell.
Finally, even though we might feel impossible and unbarring, if we look in the word of God and His promises, it not only comfort us; but our God Jesus the Christ is not only promising God but He is has fulfilled the promises and He will do it in your and my life.
But our challenge for you and I is, are we willing to take on-board? If we are then, Lord Jesus Himself said, “It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.” John 6:63
May the Lord Jesus give us this day to look in our lives and see, are we restraining ourselves from unlashing our potential by blaming God Jesus the Christ for the things that has happened in our lives. Here, let me remind you God said, I have a plan for you to give you life and future, but only if we know what He meant by that. Let us not blame someone or each other but if we take this as “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” Roman 8:28
Rather then blaming one another, lets “forgive, forget and forward“.
