Constant Battel

Today, I came across a man who was very upset, looked very taken back, very unhappy, and very unsettled, as friendly man I am naturally, I went near him and asked him, “I hope I am not overstepping my boundaries by asking, is everything is alright?”, and he said to me, no, but you wouldn’t understand me, I’ve lost my dear aunt who was very near and dear to me.

I wasn’t alarmed, neither this story let me veer me, rather I remained calm and I said to him, “I am very sorry for your loss, would you like water or anything I am here for you?” This disconsolate man tells me very rudely, “you have no idea how it feels when you lose your loved ones”, and as I realised wariness in the conversation thereby wanting to quell the conversation quickly as possible, I said, ‘I am sorry for asking you in this time of grieving’ (But inside me I was thinking, you try me, I have lost my sister when she was just 20 years old, in her tender life, when life had just begun for her, I loved my sister and we were so close), despite the burning fire in my heart, I wanted this man to grieve and see his pain of loss is the greatest things amongst all and I let him alone.

Dear readers, In our lives, many of us have lost many things, some might be of great value (life) or some might be like sweets or pen or maybe a pet too. Losing something is very painful, it hurts so much so that it will tear your heart out, as much as it could take your life too. In the Bible in Mark 8:36, it is written “For what does it benefit a man to gain the whole world yet lose his life?”, this is a proof that no one can preserve life, no one can hold life forever, certainly the life will slip away of our flesh and the question is, what then? Are you aware?

We human, reason and fumble within and ourselves with our logic, the epistemology of every topic that is questioned, but have we dug deep within us to find what is our life made for or made of? Simple as it seems but there is more to that meets the eye. Many people are happy with the things that meet their daily needs, but some desire more then that is there to meet their daily lives, some are happy with the material wealth but some with the unseen wealth, some are happy with good health but some want more than a health, some are happy today and not sure of tomorrow but some seek for tomorrow. Tomorrow could be a sunny day or rainy day, for some it doesn’t matter but for some, it matters a lot, people’s today depends upon what would be tomorrow and tomorrow depends upon today. Every good farmer prepares for tomorrow, every good businessman prepares for tomorrow, every good student prepares for tomorrow, every good mother prepare for tomorrow, every good sports person prepares for tomorrow likewise every prudent and sagacious person who envisage for tomorrow or the future would be living today, in the future hope of tomorrow, certainly for sure we do not know what tomorrow will bring to us in our lives, but we can always prepare for the best.

Dear friends, are you ready for tomorrow? Are you prepared for the future? Only the lazy person claims, “There’s a lion out there! If I go outside, I might be killed!” Proverbs 22:13. Not wanting to be prepared for tomorrow is laziness. As the wisdom from Proverbs writes that lazy person hates work: “The sluggard’s craving will be the death of him, because his hands refuse to work” (21:25); he loves to sleep: “As a door turns on its hinges, so a sluggard turns on his bed” (26:14);  he is the talks the talk of the thousand tell: “The sluggard says, ‘There is a lion in the road, a fierce lion roaming the streets’” (26:13); he is the waster of time and energy: “He who is slothful in his work is a brother to him who is a great waster” (18:9 KJV); he believes he is wise, but is a fool: “The sluggard is wiser in his own eyes than seven men who answer discreetly” (26:16).
Proverbs also tells us the result for the laziness: A lazy person becomes a servant (or debtor): “Diligent hands will rule, but laziness ends in slave labor” (12:24); his future is undefinable: “A sluggard does not plow in season; so at harvest time he looks but finds nothing” (20:4); his future could be poverty: “The soul of the lazy man desires and has nothing; but the soul of the diligent shall be made rich” (13:4 KJV).

Here my point is not about the laziness that leads to failure, poor and of the aesthetic view of the world, but my point is yet living this aesthetic driven life we ought to ask ourselves, what is tomorrow going to be for me real and eternal. We see our physical life but every physical life are governed by the spiritual or metaphysical. Are we ready for the next step of our Pneumatology? If we are, see you later

Green Pastures….. Issue-1

Green Pasture-Vol.1

“For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” Matthew 6:21

Dear Readers,

Our lives these days are so hi-tech, that we turn to technology for everything. For a minute if we do not have phone, Internet and computer we feel we have forgotten to breath. Some how this is how the world is moving on. Every little child knows how to use phone, computer and Internet minute they open their eyes and be stable. This I say is because my son is just 14 months old and he know what is phone. He knows how to unlock and tap on the apps; like wise computer and Internet too.

But as for you, Daniel, conceal these words and seal up the book until the end of time; many will go back and forth, and knowledge will increase.” Daniel 12:4 All this is the fulfilment of the Biblical prophecy.Yes, the world is going in one direction but we the Christian believers are to go into different direction.

Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.” Matthew 7:13&14

Hence, In order to lead our lives in the direction that the Lord want us to go Lord Jesus has given His living words “BIBLE” and with it we have so much of help and support from our servants, shepherds, sons, teachers, fathers, mothers, brothers, friends and family of God to help nurture our lives.

Why not to take advantage of their experiences in their rocky road of spiritual lives. We learn from our mistakes and we learn from others mistakes, this is how we make ourselves. Today we may fall but wise man will stand up and walk again, but wiser will prepare before fall which not to happen. So, lets be wiser.

When there is no one to help.

If you are looking for answer to the question of the topic. You have come to the right place.

Have you ever been in a situation where there is no one to help you? You talk to your friends, near and dear ones. All they could do is give you moral support and try to show support. Okay, they may give you hug and be there around you while you cry, shout and moan………..but at the end of the day they have got works to do and will have to leave. Another possibility is you can call helplines where there are people ready to assist you with your problems and troubleshoot the problems…. not so helpful while another person is on another corner of the world… maybe thousand miles away. You may talk to your dad, mom, best friend….but it’s still hard to explain 100% what exactly is going inside your mind and heart.

So, what will you do then? It would be amazing if we had a device which can understand our feelings, desires, emotions and all…like the ones portrait in different scientific fiction movies….but in reality it’s not possible. So, back to reality you do seek if there is anything else you can get comfort from right?

  • I think it is now time for you to concentrate on the back end part of your life. I.e. your spirit. Maybe it is time for your spirit to receive servicing. How can you achieve it??
  • Mark 4:9 says those who have ears let them hear what the church of the spirit says to the inner core of your heart. So, what does the church of the spirit say??

Everyone has tensions of future, what happens next, when I will die, what to eat, and many more. However, Jesus gives a powerful message through Bible that if you put all your problems unto him you shall be able to overcome any kind of problem. Please read Matthew 11:29, 30 and you can help yourself to reduce your burden.

It is a very important time to focus your mind and spirit towards a specific ‘thing’. The ‘thing’ I am referring to is indescribable…but is something important. Let’s use the word ‘hope’ however, this word reduces the weight. So, let’s say “huge… hope”. There are many interesting verses in the Bible which gives us hope. If we explore deep inside, we may wander around and get lost because the information available is so vast.

Delight in the Lord Jesus Christ and he shall give you the desires of your heart. If you are lost and don’t know what to do next…thinking about what is the right way to go?? Then please rely on all your ways to the lord with full trust…..yes I say again ‘TRUST’ and he will guide you what to do.

Read Psalms 37:4-7 for more detailed explanations.

Is food enough for a man to live?

2015-03-02 13.15.04

We need food, water, oxygen etc. to live. Am I right? No one can argue about this statement. We have different desires…. for instance to become rich, have good family status etc. and after we acquire these desired things, what’s next?

Someday in future, you may acquire all the things you have desired for. However, you may still feel like you are missing something. Today we will talk about that missing thing.

A question to ask yourself…have you ever felt like you needed something else? Something that is missing in your life and making you feel void? Maybe like a missing piece on a chess board which makes the game completely useless.

If so, then you are lucky today because if you see carefully around, you maybe able to find the missing piece. There can come a time when you have everything what you need, you feel happy of what you have but still you will find emptiness in your heart.

If that is the case, what does man really need to live? Maybe happiness? Comfortable home? Money? Family? children?

Did you know that man cannot live by bread alone? (Matthew 4:4) Meaning that physical nourishment is not sufficient for a healthy life; man also has spiritual needs which can be fulfilled only by every word of God Jesus Christ.

Please read Matthew chapter 4 from the bible to understand more clearly.

Who are we? “Khukuri to Cross”

Khukuri to Cross

We are the Gurkhas and decedents who, who came from hills of Nepal and served under the British Crown with honor and dignity oathed to protect queen and the country from foreign and domestic ailments, whose weapon is “Khukuri”. One could define us as gun for hire, ruthless killers and there is never no for an answer. Once sworn as Gurkha it is kill or be killed. Now in UK.

Before we were ruthless killers, gun for hire and kill or be killed but today this very group of people who were in darkness have found light in Lord and God Jesus Christ.

Lord Jesus said to fishermen, “Come, I will make you a fisher of men”. Like wise Lord Jesus has said to us, “Come, I will make you not killer but life saver”

“The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined.” Isaiah 9:2

“The people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up” Matthew 4:16

Now we, praise God Jesus Christ who has given us grace, mercy and Agape Love toward people like us.

We are a group of people who are the fruit of the prayers of our patriarchs of faith.

Want to know us more see our Statement of faith.

Since we are people from Himalayas we are linked with, El-Shaddai Church, Kalimpong, India. Which is established through the fervent prayers and the vision given to our dear Brother Bhaktha Singh of India, who gave all to gain Christ.

STRATEGIES FOR FIGHTING LUST

The need for warfare against the bombardment of visual temptation to fixate on sexual images is urgent.  When I say “lust” I mean the realm of thought, imagination, and desire that leads to sexual misconduct. So here is one set of strategies in the war against LUST. I put it in the form of an acronym – A N T H E M.

A – AVOID as much as is possible and reasonable the sights and situations that arouse unfitting desire. I say “possible and reasonable” because some exposure to temptation is inevitable. And I say “unfitting desire” because not all desires for sex, food, and family are bad. We know when they are unfitting and unhelpful and on their way to becoming enslaving. We know our weaknesses and what triggers them. “Avoiding” is a Biblical strategy. “Flee youthful passions and pursue righteousness” (2 Timothy 2:22). “Make no provision for the flesh, to gratify its desires” (Romans 13:14).

N – Say NO to every lustful thought within five seconds. And say it with the authority of Jesus Christ. “In the name of Jesus, NO!” You don’t have much more than five seconds. Give it more unopposed time than that, and it will lodge itself with such force as to be almost immovable. Say it out loud if you dare. Be tough and warlike. As John Owen said, “Be killing sin or it will be killing you.” Strike fast and strike hard. “Resist the devil, and he will flee from you” (James 4:7).

T – TURN the mind forcefully toward Christ as a superior satisfaction. Saying “no” will not suffice. You must move from defense to offense. Fight fire with fire. Attack the promises of sin with the promises of Christ. The Bible calls lusts “deceitful desires” (Ephesians 4:22). They lie. They promise more than they can deliver. The Bible calls them “passions of your former ignorance” (1 Peter 1:14). Only fools yield. “All at once he follows her, as an ox goes to the slaughter” (Proverbs 7:22). We must stock our minds with the superior promises and pleasures of Jesus. Then we must turn to them immediately after saying, “NO!”

H – HOLD the promise and the pleasure of Christ firmly in your mind until it pushes the other images out. “Fix your eyes on Jesus” (Hebrews 12:2). Here is where many fail. They give in too soon. They say, “I tried to push it out, and it didn’t work.” I ask, “How long did you try?” How hard did you exert your mind? The mind is a muscle. You can flex it with vehemence. Take the kingdom violently (Matthew 11:12). Be brutal. Hold the promise of Christ before your eyes. Hold it. Hold it! Don’t let it go! Keep holding it! How long? As long as it takes. Fight! For Christ’s sake, fight till you win! If an electric garage door were about to crush your child you would hold it up with all your might and holler for help, and hold it and hold it and hold it and hold it.

E – ENJOY a superior satisfaction. Cultivate the capacities for pleasure in Christ. One reason lust reigns in so many is that Christ has so little appeal. We succumb to lust because we have little delight in Christ. Don’t say, “That’s just not me.” What steps have you taken to waken affection for Jesus? Have you fought for joy? Don’t be fatalistic. You were created to treasure Christ with all your heart — more than you treasure sex or good food. If you have little taste for Jesus, competing pleasures will triumph. Plead with God for the satisfaction you don’t have: “Satisfy us in the morning with your steadfast love, that we may rejoice and be glad all our days” (Psalm 90:14). Then look, look, look at the most wonderful Person in the universe until you see Him the way he is.

M – MOVE into a useful activity away from idleness and other vulnerable behaviors. Lust grows fast in the garden of leisure. Find a good work to do, and do it with all your might. “Do not be slothful in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord” (Romans 12:11). “Be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord” (1 Corinthians 15:58). Abound in work. Get up and do something. Sweep a room. Hammer a nail. Write a letter. Fix a faucet. And do it for Jesus’s sake. You were made to manage and create. Christ died to make you “zealous for good works” (Titus 2:14). Displace deceitful lusts with a passion for good deeds.

Fighting at your side,

JOHN PIPER
