Why Jesus wanted a donkey not Ferrari or BMW?

img_9442.jpg

Okay, we know there was no BMW or Ferrari at that time….however, there was horses, which looked good, faster….

However, If we look in the bible verse, Jesus wants a donkey to ride around. Have we ever thought why he wanted a donkey?

In the holy bible it is written.

Matthew 11:2

Then Jesus sent two disciples, Saying unto them, Go into the village over against you, and straightway ye shall find an ass tied, and a colt with her: loose them, and bring them unto me

Why would Jesus want a donkey to ride? God seemed so keen to ride a donkey. So, if we look carefully on the characteristics of a donkey.

Donkeys have distinct characteristics.

Hard worker, strong and intelligent

Donkeys are stronger than a horse of the same size. It could carry lots of things required while travelling as Jesus was travelling all the time.

Herd animal

Donkeys don’t like being kept alone. So, it would not be distracted while preaching around in the crowds.

Concentration and curiosity

Donkeys have better concentration, i.e. they are less easily startled (unlike horses). So, donkey was more reliable and trustworthy to travel with.

Stubborn

Donkeys have highly developed sense of self-preservation. Hence difficult to force or frighten. While training a donkey, action and words plays important role. By doing this they can trust to be protected from harm. So, donkey needs a bond with its owner.

Dogs are scared (Natural aversion to canine)

Dogs are scared away easily/ naturally by a donkey. So, it would help Jesus on his way to the preaching without being entangled by astray dogs around villages at that time.

Powerful hearing

Donkeys can hear from 60 miles away as they have bigger ears than horses.

Donkeys can survive deserts

Donkeys have a different digestive system, which can break down inedible vegetation and extract moisture from food efficiently. So, while travelling with limited food and water, donkey was the most efficient means of transport at that time.

Man is greedy

There are many explanations about greed…but today we will explore about the impact on the stages of a life of man with an example.

Ever wondered why man lives longer than animals (donkey, dog & Owl)? This maybe one of the good examples of portraying the greediness that lies in man. God created different living creatures on earth and left them to live on earth. The living creatures were donkey, dog, owl and man.

So, the God decided to give each creature with life span of 40 years to each. Donkey then realized it’s too long for him to have 40 years. So, he went to God and asked for reducing his life span. So, God said, “Okay, I will remove your 20 years of span.

At the mean time, man went to God as he was intelligent but was greedy and full of covetousness. So, man went to God and asked for more life because he wanted to live more. So, God granted his wish by adding 20 years (total of 60 years) more, which was compensated by donkeys’ life.

Similarly, dog was also frustrated to live his life for 40 years. So, he decided to go to God and ask to reduce his life span. So, he was also granted to reduce his life span by 20 years. Again, man went and said “Could you increase my life a little bit more?”. So, God granted his wish and the man could live further more of 20 years (total of 80 years). Similarly, owl didn’t want to live for 40 years.

However, man still wanted more life. So, he could spend 20 years more (total of 100years). Now, lets think more. Man lived for 40 years as God initially gave him 40 years…but at the end he is going to live for 100 years because of his greed.

The table below will explain clearly the 60 years acquired from different animals by man.

Acquired from (20 years) Explanation
Donkey After 40 years of age man needs to work like a donkey for future of family.
Dog After 60 years of age man becomes old and everyone around starts to go away and mock about because of the age.
Owl After 80 years of age, man will have high probability of eyesight problems.

If only man hadn’t been so greedy, the life would be so different. So, the bible says,

Proverbs 23:25

A greedy man stirs up strife,

but the one who trusts in the Lord will be enriched.

Whoever trusts in his own mind is a fool,

but he who walks in wisdom will be delivered.

Whoever gives to the poor will not want,

but he who hides his eyes will get many a curse.

When the wicked rise, people hide themselves,

but when they perish, the righteous increase.

Proactive and Reactive…..

Day by day our lives sails as it has been,20130527_203527~2 but how we let our lives sail or how we sail makes lots of difference in our lives or future. Future is derived by what we do now. Like some one rightly said, “It is not the destination but the Journey that matters”.

We surely have may things in our lives which engages us in direct or indirect ways. Rather then we being influenced by the situation, why not we influence the situation to cause. For example; every employer would like to have proactive employee rather then reactive, “why the leader must be a proactive rather then reactive?”, reason being if you know then you could lead, but if you don’t know how are you going to? Like wise if you are an employee, if you are proactive you would be prepared for the challenge that would be thrown at your lap and embrace it gladly rather then cussing, swearing and wandering out of bewilderment of the situation one is landed into.

This reminds me the great example from the BIBLE, the proactive God “Jesus” and reactive disciples. Why Jesus is proactive because He knew before the time began and future to come. Disciples are reactive because they are not prepared for the situation to come yet Lord Jesus have taught them everything everyday before all happened yet when all the situation arose they were still at a sock.  “Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God? John 11:40”. Every leader must have a faith to work with, or to be proactive. Proactive may be defined as research, leave not stone unturned, seek, knock, survey, sweep or may more we could think of.

Now, if we need the answer we must come to the Lord Jesus, who will answer all of our questions and fulfil our needs. And everybody says one thing what about the others? Well, my question today would be, are you proactive or reactive? If you were proactive, you would do what the proactive character would do, look for evidence:

If Jesus was real?

Did Jesus claim to be God and Son of God?

Did he die and rose again?

Did he really went to heaven in the clouds as people were looking at him?

Would you think Bible is a History? If so every History is based upon fact…

Many more questions for your inquisition.

Let this be the day for you to seek the truth and find the truth. As Bible says, “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free” John 8:32, which is used by everybody in the world.

Lord Jesus Himself said, “For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened” Matthew 7:8

Let this day be the day of turning point to seek the truth, and lets be proactive rather then reactive.

Lets not be surprised when the day of the Lord will come at once, rather lets pray and get ready to go with Him when He comes…..

God Bless

“It is better to go to the house of mourning, than to go to the house of feasting: for that is the end of all men; and the living will lay it to his heart.” Ecclesiastes 7:2

Once an old and wise man said,”All Golds are glitter, but all glitters are not gold”. The bible says, “You shall know them by their fruits” Matthew 7:16

We all say lots of things but have you practiced in order to say that? as some one said, “Practice as you preach” or else you become hypocrite as per Matthew 7:5

Today was a very blessed day one can not deny the fact. Amazingly described the death of the saint which is the entrance to heaven, Psalm 116:15 says, “Precious is the death of the saint in the site of the Lord”

Lord Jesus offered us the way to Heaven if we goto HIM, Jesus said,”I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me” John 3:16

Do you think every Christian will goto heaven? But the Bible says, “As it is appointed for a men to die once after that the judgement” Hebrews 9:27

“For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?” 1Peter 4:17

As all men knows that after judgement, then heaven or hell.

So, ARE YOU READY FOR HIS JUDGEMENT? ARE YOU READY FOR HEAVEN?

My question is, do you love the Lord Jesus Christ? If you Love the Lord then, why do you find so difficult to love your brother?

“If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?” 1John 4:20

“Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you.” Ephesians 4:31&32

Lets get ready for His coming as we know He is coming……….

Because, we all know that Jesus is the only way to Heaven……….

God bless you all

Let me Challenge you today…

Jesus said,

“Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book” .

Revelation 22:7

“And, Behold, I, come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be”. Revelation 22:12

“Surely I come quickly”. Revelation 22:20

These are the last words of our Lord Jesus Christ to all human.

As a Christian, as a believer our responsibility is to keep the word of God not only in our words rather deeds.

Lets be reminded once again that

“As it is appointed for men to die after that the judgement” Hebrew 9:27 . Hence, the way to Heaven or Hell.

Let me point 5 heads that Lord is going to judge us:

1. Thoughts

2. Words

3. Deeds

4. Attitudes

5. Intent of our Hearts

We all know the world is going crazy, this is the trumpet for us to get ready for His coming else, we’ll be left behind.

We don’t want to be left behind do we? Hence, let this be the day for us to repent and turn around to follow our Lord and Saviour Jesus the Christ.

May Jesus Bless you all…

Thank you for your presence…

10858432_874828332551111_1321905093732109976_nDear Bashan Youth’s and Families,

Praise the Lord in the Highest! Psalm 148:1

Let us keep on magnifying our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ; who was, who is and will come to take us to heaven. (Revelation 1:8).

We have sure and certain hope (Hebrews 11:1) in our Lord and Saviour who has given this opportunity to live in this life.

We would like to thank you for your involvement in the process to make Christmas with RUN’s family successful. Everybody were exceptional and did their part. As we know some’ presence was enough; yet some the more then less. Your labour will not be in vain (1Corinthian 15:58).

In coming days we will be doing this more often, sowing the word of God not by words but by our deeds. We would like everyone of you to be prepare, because the days coming are darker. We need light to walk in darkness.  Our dear Father and God will pay us according to our deeds (Roman 2:6)

Hence, let us forget what happened or past but let us move unto perfection for his Glorious Kingdom.

Soon we will see the footage of the very day….

May God bless you all

Who are we? “Khukuri to Cross”

Khukuri to Cross

We are the Gurkhas and decedents who, who came from hills of Nepal and served under the British Crown with honor and dignity oathed to protect queen and the country from foreign and domestic ailments, whose weapon is “Khukuri”. One could define us as gun for hire, ruthless killers and there is never no for an answer. Once sworn as Gurkha it is kill or be killed. Now in UK.

Before we were ruthless killers, gun for hire and kill or be killed but today this very group of people who were in darkness have found light in Lord and God Jesus Christ.

Lord Jesus said to fishermen, “Come, I will make you a fisher of men”. Like wise Lord Jesus has said to us, “Come, I will make you not killer but life saver”

“The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined.” Isaiah 9:2

“The people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up” Matthew 4:16

Now we, praise God Jesus Christ who has given us grace, mercy and Agape Love toward people like us.

We are a group of people who are the fruit of the prayers of our patriarchs of faith.

Want to know us more see our Statement of faith.

Since we are people from Himalayas we are linked with, El-Shaddai Church, Kalimpong, India. Which is established through the fervent prayers and the vision given to our dear Brother Bhaktha Singh of India, who gave all to gain Christ.
